Ojai Valley Rotary Living Treasures
1999 Treasures
Living Treasures is a structure and process that deals in a positive way with the causes of society's ills, not just its symptoms. When Treasure Chests are opened worldwide, individuals worldwide are empowered with vitality, peace, and harmony worldwide.
This year's Ojai Treasure Chest includes five new Living Treasures, whose Sharing and Caring Programs will benefit hundreds of people in our community. These five new Treasures join dozens from years past, who together have provided over 400 programs to more than 6,000 participants in all aspects of life: from arts, environment, finance, and health to communications, technology, and community service. With over 100 individual programs available, 1 in every 5.3 persons who live in the Ojai Valley community has participated in a Living Treasures program.

Caryn Bosson
Executive Director
Ojai Youth Foundation
Meeting the needs of today's youth has become a greater challenge than we've ever faced. My program will design, develop, and implement a web page to bring the Ojai youth and adult communities together by promoting positive communication and opportunities for involvement. The page will provide a venue for expressing feelings and advertising services. Under the auspices of the Ojai Youth Fondation, I will form a team to implement this program.

Del Rey
International
Recording Artist, Music Producer and Educator
I
am enthusiastic about sharing a celebration of and musical journey
through Latin America via rich and empowering songs, legends,
and dance. As I perform and teach bilingual music both on the
local and international level, I find Hispanic Americans proud
and happy to learn more about their own culture, and see the
delight of American families as they enjoy new songs and stories
of substance and meaning.

Tom Farmer
Executive Vice President
Ojai Valley Bank
Living in this beautiful valley affords us many wilderness opportunities, and the unknown dangers that are present can be minimized. As captain of the Swift Water Rescue Team, I will educate the community about basic safety, the dangers of swift water, and what precautions can be taken if caught in rapidly moving water. My program is available to all age groups.

All ages and genders are enhanced by high self-esteem and the confidence of "having it together." By nurturing and supporting positive self-image through mental, physical and spiritual growth, I will present workshops focusing on awareness of the nine individual viewpoints of personality and their gifts, as well as enhancement of image through color, clothes selection, and visual poise. Let's honor life by being aware of all that we are.
